Yongan is rich in bamboo resources, with a bamboo forest area of 1.02 million mu and a per capita farmer of 6.7 mu, ranking first in the country.

"Bamboo has a strong carbon sequestration capacity. In the process of deepening forest reform, we have accelerated the implementation of forest bamboo carbon neutralization and innovation projects, accelerated the high-quality development of Yong'an bamboo industry, and made greater contributions to the realization of the goal of 'double carbon." Yong'an City Forestry Bureau Director Mei Jingui said.

The bamboo forest in Tuushi Village, Hongtian Town, is a demonstration base for carbon sequestration projects, with tall and straight green bamboo. This demonstration plot with an area of more than 2000 mu is one of the bamboo forest carbon sequestration projects developed by Yong'an City.

Yongan is the first county (city) in Fujian Province that has passed forest certification for collective bamboo forests. In 2014, Yongan obtained the FSC bamboo forest certification audit certificate issued by French BV Company, with a certified forest land area of 135300 mu. In 2019, Yong'an City once again successfully passed the FSC new standard review and replacement review, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of carbon sink projects.

How to implement the carbon sequestration project? "We promote the high-quality management of bamboo forests and continuously improve the carbon sink level of bamboo forests by improving the infrastructure of Zhushan, strengthening the tending of bamboo forests and adjusting the structure of bamboo forests." Cao Bifeng, director of the Bamboo Industry Development Office of Yongan Forestry Bureau, said that we have also carried out monitoring and management of water, fertilizer and soil in bamboo forests, boldly explored new technologies for carbon sequestration and carbon stabilization in bamboo forests, and continuously improved the carbon storage of bamboo forests through the research and development and promotion of new technologies for carbon sequestration and bamboo sequestration.

With the gradual increase of labor cost in Zhushan, Yong'an actively promotes the mechanized management and protection mode of bamboo forest. Up to now, Yong'an City has built a total of 4020.78 kilometers of Zhushan access road and 1762 reservoirs, and has successively introduced a number of modern Zhushan machinery such as Zhushan transportation rail machine, shallow tillage machine, bamboo stump crusher, grass chopping machine, bamboo cutting and shearing machine, etc.

Improving the amount of carbon sequestration in bamboo forests requires scientific and technological support. Yong'an City actively explores the mixed cultivation technology of bamboo and broad-leaved trees, adjusts the proportion of broad-leaved trees in bamboo forests, and improves the utilization rate of space. At present, it has promoted 503 mu of mixed bamboo and broad.

Scientific management and protection have effectively increased the carbon sequestration of bamboo forests. The output value per mu of the bamboo forest high-efficiency demonstration base is as high as 13900 yuan, achieving win-win economic, ecological and social benefits.

To fix carbon, but also to store carbon.

"Bamboo is made into wood in five years, and bamboo shoots and bamboo are produced every year. Through reasonable harvesting, processing and utilization, timely storage and trading of mature bamboo materials every year, the overall carbon storage benefit of bamboo products can be improved." Mei Jingui said.

Walking into Fujian Bayi Yongqing Bamboo and Wood Industry Development Co., Ltd., after more than a dozen processing procedures, the rough bamboo curtains are transformed into exquisite car floors.

"This kind of board has high density and high strength, can replace the original steel bottom plate of the carriage, and has lower cost and longer service life." Chairman Xu Xianhao introduced.

Bayi Yongqing has been using bamboo to produce container floors since the 1990 s. Today, the company has grown into a national forestry key leading enterprise, and "Yongqing brand" bamboo and wood, container floors and other products have become famous brand products in Fujian Province.

Yong'an City insists on the second industry as the leader of the bamboo industry, accelerates the creation of bamboo industry clusters, and vigorously develops the bamboo deep processing industry. At present, Yong'an City has continuously built more than 400 bamboo shoots and bamboo products in 20 series, forming a bamboo industry advantage cluster with bamboo engineering plates and ordinary bamboo plates as the main products, bamboo fragrance cores and bamboo mechanism charcoal as the auxiliary products. It has realized the utilization of all bamboo and accelerated the green development pace of "replacing steel with bamboo", "replacing plastic with bamboo" and "winning wood with bamboo.

The bamboo industry should be bigger and stronger and better. Yongan actively guide bamboo processing enterprises to the general bamboo board, reorganization of wood, bamboo furniture, bamboo crafts and other terminal manufacturing enterprises transformation and upgrading. At present, Yong'an City has 3 well-known trademarks in China, 2 national geographical indication product protection, 3 famous brand products in Fujian, and 1 famous trademark in Fujian Province.

The industry is prosperous and the people are rich. There are currently 166 bamboo shoot enterprises in Yongan City, which consumed 45 million bamboo shoots last year, driving 62000 employees in the bamboo industry and attracting 5 million mu of bamboo resources within a radius of 100 kilometers to Yongan.

"Five-carbon" is a systematic project. It is necessary to implement carbon sequestration and carbon storage projects, but also to promote carbon reduction, zero-carbon, and carbon melting projects, and do enough bamboo industry "carbon" articles.

In Bayi Yongqing production workshop, the four high-temperature hot presses standing high on the two production lines are particularly noticeable. As the machines are squeezed up and down, pieces of bamboo-wood mixed light body boards are shaped instantly.

"This is our self-developed hot press. Compared with the previous use of a single hot press, it can save 40% of heat energy, increase production capacity by 60%, and the product quality is more stable." Xu Xianhao said that bamboo can be used in physical and biochemical applications, as well as raw material extraction, so as to make the best use of materials and materials, so as to achieve resource conservation and efficient development.

Carbon reduction projects improve quality and efficiency, and zero carbon projects penetrate the concept of green development into all aspects of production and life.

Chinese festival bamboo, Yunnan dragon bamboo, Guangxi acid bamboo ...... into the ten thousand bamboo mountain park, from all over the country to introduce more than 370 kinds of rare bamboo species dazzling. The functional orientation here is a bamboo park for forest and bamboo scientific research and carbon sink science popularization, and the construction of forest and bamboo industry research center, bamboo seed resource bank, bamboo seed cultivation base and other facilities. It integrates forest and bamboo scientific research, achievement transformation and science popularization education, attracting many citizens to come for sightseeing.

"Zero carbon" does not emit carbon dioxide, but to achieve self-balance of carbon emissions and absorption through industrial green transformation, facility agglomeration and sharing, resource recycling, and development of forest health care.

In November 2022, the "Bamboo Master" bamboo industry shared employment platform, a non-profit bamboo industry cloud computing service platform invested and constructed by the Yong'an Municipal Government, was officially launched.

"When bamboo farmers place orders, we send orders to provide bamboo forest management, logging, transportation and other services through professional teams to help bamboo farmers solve the problems of labor shortage, unmanned management or extensive management." Towards the goal of "zero carbon", Yong'an City has accelerated the construction of a number of projects such as the Bamboo World Carbon Neutrality Innovation Experience Demonstration Zone and the Xiahe-Gongchuan Zero Carbon Life Demonstration Zone, so that the goal of zero or close to zero carbon emissions will be changed from blueprint to reality.

The zero-carbon project is fast and steady, and the melting carbon project is advancing according to local conditions. Yong'an City deepens the integration of bamboo with history, culture and folklore, excavates bamboo culture, builds green channels and ecological education bases with bamboo as the main element, and develops bamboo culture tourism and health care rich in bamboo culture.

With "carbon" as a new force, the bamboo industry has yielded fruitful results. In 2022, Yong'an City will realize the output value of bamboo industry of 9.78 billion yuan. In the first half of this year, Yongan's bamboo industry achieved an output value of 6.41 billion billion yuan, up 11.3 percent year on year.

Stepping on the new track of deepening forest reform, Yong'an Wanqing bamboo sea is being transformed into an ecological industry and a rich industry.
